Zapata County Higher Education Advanced
Technology Center
For quite some time, Zapata County residents
have expressed the need to have higher education opportunities
in the County. Most residents that pursue educational
activities beyond high school commute to other neighboring
cities to fulfill this need. The Zapata County Chamber of
Commerce and Zapata County Economic Development Center have been
actively heading discussions with Zapata County ISD, Laredo
Community College and Texas A&M International University in an
effort to make higher education available within Zapata County.
Thus, the creation of the Zapata County Higher Education
Advanced Technology Center. This project is a work in
progress. Our goals is to educate Zapata County residents
and provide them with new and better job opportunities through
training and higher education.
