Soil Damage: Types, Countermeasures and Prevention

The more time goes by, the condition of the Earth (read: the core of the Earth) gets older. This will add to the fragility of the elements on Earth, including land. In addition, activities carried out by humans in daily life also affect soil conditions such as hydromulching costs. The soil content consists of 50% solid material (45% mineral ingredients and 5% organic ingredients), 25% water, and 25% air if the composition is not balanced, it will cause the quality of the soil to fall and the length direction of soil damage. We need to know together that the types of damage that occur in this land vary. Because of the various types of damage also different soil conditions are seen. The type of damage that occurs in the soil that we first refer to as soil erosion (read: soil pollution). Soil erosion is the event of elevation of parts of the soil, especially the top layer on the ground and deposited elsewhere.

The next type of soil erosion is excavation. Exaction is soil erosion caused by glaciers. The glacier itself is the erosion of the mass of snow moving down the slope. These glaciers are in snowy areas. Because it is caused by glaciers, this exarction occurs in areas that have a lot of snow. Abrasive is soil erosion caused by the power of ocean waves. Of several types of soil erosion, maybe abrasion is the one we hear most often. This is because Indonesia has many seas (read: various types of the sea), so many ocean waves cause erosion of the soil. Because the cause is sea waves, abrasion only occurs around the sea areas.

Piracy is useful for flipping land, especially areas in the topsoil zone (0 – 20cm above ground level). In the past, land piracy was done manually with hoes or the help of animals such as buffalo. Now piracy is usually done by a tractor engine. The plowed land will be lifted and become loose. Types of soil such as loose soil mean that the soil has a cavity in its structure (not solid) so that soil organisms such as worms and microorganisms can live in it. Plant roots will also be easier to get oxygen with this hollow soil structure.
