2005, Zapata County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
and Zapata County Economic Development Center Board of
Directors agreed to pursue the creation and implementation
of a Zapata County Master Plan as presented by Macrina,
Consultants and Retailers.
Proposal Presented to Board of Directors
On Tuesday, January 28, 2006 Zapata County Independent
School District Administrators kicked off focus groups for
the creation and implementation of the Zapata County Master
Plan.

Team Building Exercise
During the months of February and March 2006 various Zapata
County Community groups and residents were surveyed.
On Friday, March 31, Zapata County Community Leaders were
invited to attend the Zapata County Community Leaders
Strategic Thinking Session to discuss results from community
surveys.
