The Zapata County Fair is one of the largest
small town fairs in Texas and includes top stars in country
& western and tejano music, coronation of Fair Queen, street
dances, trail ride, carnival, youth livestock projects, rodeo,
impressive arts and crafts, 5k run, and food exhibits and a
charming parade that a real slice of rural Americana.
Youth Programs
Youth Programs are ongoing during the year
including Boys & Girls Club Programs, Little League, Slap
Shots Roller Hockey League, Library Summer Youth Program, 4-H
Clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and many others.
Other community events include 4th of July celebration, Noche
Mexicana (a night of entertainment with stars from Mexico),
Earth Day, Spring Fun Run & Walk (5k run/2 mile walk).
Don't forget the annual Tommy Gray Memorial Bass Tournament,
Veteran's Day Celebration, Zapata Open Golf Tournament, and
Winter Texan Appreciation Day. Others include concerts, dances,
cook-offs, and school
functions.
